Since July 1, 2023, new legislation, SB264 Law, has come into effect in the state of Florida, causing a significant impact on foreign property owners, especially those of Venezuelan nationality. Section 6 of this law specifically addresses the acquisition and control of real estate within a 10-mile radius of military facilities and critical infrastructure.

Mandatory Registration:

Citizens of Venezuela, as well as those from Cuba, Syria, China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea, who are majority property owners or have controlling interests in land within 10 miles of these facilities, are required to complete mandatory registration before December 31, 2023. If you already own or exercise control over property in these areas, it is of utmost importance to complete this process before the mentioned date.
